The third series of experiments was conducted, with included “vertical” and “horizontal” experiments (which needed to be repeated). These experiments were conducted between Oct 21 and Oct 25 2019.

The DEM-based algorithm awailable to simulate rocking that is developed within this project is extended so that it includes the tangential contact. In this phase only one model for tangential contact is introduced, while other possible models can be used in the future if necessary.

The discussion about modelling the tangential contact between bodies is the starting point for initiating the collaboration on development of an in-house code for disrete element simulation that is onoging in the Impact Engineering Laboratory group.
